Co-Pilot: A Cup Holder For Your Phone. What?

The bottom of a car’s cup holder collects condensation from your fountain drinks, bits of old candy canes, and more lint than some dryer sheets. Yet that’s where many people put their phones. Or, you might clip it inside a sheath that suctions to your windshield or slides into the air vent slot. Not good.

Heath Corso hated all these options and decided to design a better, safer way to travel with your phone.

Co-Pilot is a phone cradle that holds your device at glancing distance and keeps your cup holder accessible. Plus, on some models there is wireless charging.

The project is live now on Kickstarter.

Heath is a friend of mine and as soon as he described the problem and showed me the solution, I was all-in. For years, I drove with my phone in the cup holder because it amplified the sound (before I had streaming). My iPhone got grungy and it wasn’t safe because I’d have to fish it from the holder to take a call or check the GPS.

Please check out Heath’s project and consider backing it. I think this is a needed product and I want to see it come to life. That’s why I contributed at the $80 level so I can get an iPhone case for wireless charging and the home docking station.

What can I say, I’m a fan of making phone problems disappear.

Back this project now.
